Newman’s Own Organics President and Co-Founder Visit Tofino

Posted on: November 21st, 2011 by Blake Klopfenstein

Cleanline Sportfishing was proud to host Newman’s Own Organics president and co-founder, not once, but twice this season! The daughter of the late Paul Newman, was a delight to fish with, as she shared her charismatic wisdom, charm, and a common bond with Cleanline’s owner and head guide through a shared interest in food and a passion for sport fishing. Sustainable food systems, not-too-mention a shared interest in lifestyle, was a common topic during numerous outings, while exploring the waters of Clayoquot Sound, Tofino B.C.  In pursuit of Chinook and coho salmon, pacific halibut and dungeness crab, we found success on all fronts and were rewarded with a fantastic resident orca whale show while we fished!  The grand finale involved catching a few waves on a few remote breaks out of Tofino, where Nell and her husband Gary, both avid surfers, were rewarded with some fantastic south swell in early September.  We look forward to hosting both Nell and her husband for yet another fantastic fishing and surfing adventure in Tofino for next season. Here are a few photos from our adventures:

We had an amazing family experience with Cleanline Sportishing in Tofino! Blake knew just how to keep the interest of our 2 and 4 year old as we pulled up all sorts of sea creatures in the crab traps. The kids took turns driving the boat while we waited for me to catch my first Salmon. I really appreciated how flexible Blake was to our family’s needs. This Eco-Fishing adventure showed us the beauty of Clayoquot Sound as we saw eagles, sea lions and even a pod of porpoises. We would definitely do this trip again.
